The Hi-Liners Musical Theatre in Burien, WA: Putting People Downstage Center Since 1966! Our productions, classes, workshops and camps are open to students ages 3 to 22. We are a non-profit youth theatre dedicated to providing professional direction to our young cast members to develop their talents with the backdrop of quality sets, costumes and a live orchestra, to give both the performers and the audience a genuine Broadway musical experience.

Age Range 7 and Up

Our age limits are guidelines. Sometimes 6 year olds audition, but remember, cast members MUST be able to read. Sometimes we accept older students for particularly challenging shows. If you are outside the age range and would like to audition, contact us for details.

Audition Requirements

This is a workshop style audition that requires very little advance preparation. No poem or monologue is required for this audition. You will be asked to sing a simple song that you know well. Songs such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Row, Row, Row Your Boat are perfectly acceptable for students of elementary school age. Older students should sing something more challenging, preferably from a Broadway Musical. Be sure to dress in clothes and shoes that you can move in and provide us with a current picture. A resume is optional, but recommended for candidates who have been in three or more productions.
