Masks for our audience members are now optional. Please remember that this is musical theatre and the production of aerosols while singing is inevitable. Our theater is small, though well ventilated. Masks are encouraged but not required. We reserve the right to change our masking policy based on community transmission rates.
The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren't the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.”

DownStage Center produces several "low tech" shows each season for which the key word is "nurturing." DSC programming features a "no tears" workshop style audition, a rehearsal schedule tailored to the needs of our youngest actors, and performance opportunities in small venues just right for developing voices. Additionally, alumni and MainStage performers are used as mentors and in production roles. Students ages 7 and up participate in DSC shows.
The DownStage Center Education Division offers year round camps, and classes for students ages 3 to 18. Musical Theatre Goes to School is our DSC outreach program.
MainStage produces a major Broadway musical each year featuring a live music and high-end production values.
